I believe this will not trigger the AMEX rebate if that is the requestor's desire.

Recently I was able to buy a Ritz giftcard at the gift shop for the Ritz Laguna Niguel. There have been two AMEX offers, one for highend properties and the other for the other brands. This one triggered the highend offer.
