There were always convenience stores and family restaurants which were not open 24 hrs. a day in Japan. Most common situation was due to the location in the building where the building itself was not open 24 hrs. Corporate has talked with the owner of the building but at the end the owner of the building did not agree with opening the building for convenience stores or family restaurants, but corporate of convenience store or family restaurant concluded that the location was important enough that made the exception to their business model and operated convenience stores and family restaurants which was not open 24 hrs. a day.. However, business model of convenience store corporate and family restaurant corporate remained 24 hrs, operation.

My intent of the post was not trivia information of if there is a convenience store which is not open in Japan 24 hrs, a day. Few years ago family restaurant corporate made a business decision to change the business model of family restaurants to non-24 hrs., operation. Seems like same consideration is being discussed at the corporate level of convenience store to change their business model, too. Looks like corporate is experimenting with not operating some stores 24 hrs. It is possible that corporate will change the business model to non-24 hrs, operation.

That was my intent of the post. Sorry if my original post was not clear enough about that point.
