Convenience stores will try non-24 hrs. operation

Few years ago family restaurants in Japan announced that they will shift away from 24 hrs. operation, and slowly increased restaurants which is not open 24 hrs. Royal Host family restaurants are no longer open 24 hrs.

Now same may be starting with convenience stores in Japan. There have been covered by news in Japan that some convenience store owners are facing hardship because a contract with corporate mandate 24 hrs, operation, even during holidays. 7 Eleven has now seven stores in Japan which is not open 24 hrs., 7 Eleven will monitor how those non-24 hrs. stores will preform. Family Mart said that if an owner request non-24 hrs, operation then corporate is planning to allow a store not to open 24 hrs.
