I've always admired the Qantas & Lufthansa planes which have cool names like 'City of Parramatta/Turramurra/Wolloomolloo' or 'Frankfurt am Main' etc.

It would be so cool in the future to fly OH-LWX or similar, a.k.a 'Jaervenpaeaen kaupunki' (to allow for international spelling).
From Finnish Wikipedia's list of Aero Oy and Finnair airplanes you can see that once upon a time Finnair (or Aero earlier) did name its planes, if I read the list correctly, DC-8s were the last Finnair planes with official names (after famous Finns).
