It actually makes sense to raise price during the flight if demand is higher, though I'd be kind of annoyed if it happened to me.

What UA really needs to do is improve its wifi quality to be competitive with other US carriers. As it stands, it's a rip-off at virtually any price because the quality is typically so poor.
