We stayed on points reserved under the previous point structure, so 240k points for 5 nights. Even though it had showed online as sold out, on the 5th day prior to our stay we received an email that our SNA was confirmed and we were upgraded to a Deluxe Suite. Upon check-in at 2:30 we were told the room was not likely to be ready before 4. We went and had a late lunch and upon our return at 4 it was ready. The person at the front desk told us that since we were staying five nights there would not be a destination fee. We were welcomed by the butler but did not need their assistance. Every member of the staff could not have been nicer. We had breakfast at the Astor Court and the server welcomed us by name as we were being seated the next morning. The titanium breakfast each morning was delicious, the service excellent and only full sized New York bagels (yes the cream cheese balls were small). Housekeeping was excellent, etc. We left on Veterans Day. The President was in town and gave a speech to start the Veterans Day parade. There were secret service, NY police, barricades, etc. everywhere and the street in front of the hotel was closed when we left, the front door gentlemen couldn't have been more helpful in getting us to where we needed to go to catch an UBER to the airport. I understand that some posters have had service deficiencies, for us it was just an excellent stay all around.
Yours is consistent with the treatment we have received.
There are a few other NYC hotels we love but we keep choosing the St Regis.
