Well, but what many here miss too: it seems you need to requalify now for Senator and HON every year too. Meaning: keeping your status for 10 years was up to now 5 times requalification. Now it is 10 times. Again: doubling the price.

If you earned your status, basically it should not be relevant what you do with it. You could be on parental leave for half a year, you could become ill, you simply could decide to not to fly that often for any other reason. Just meaning that it was easy for you qualifying so far, does not mean it will be forever. So or so, it is doubling the price and so many just dont see that and just are in that tunnel view of finding some sweet spots where it is now easier to qualify for that status.

Just from a accountants view it is simply wrong to compare one qualification for 24 months (like it was up to now) with one qualification for 12 months (which it seems to be from 2021 onwards) and then simply say: Ohhhhh, I am so happy, qualification got now a bit easier for me. Well, you need to do it now TWICE for getting the same. And even "getting the same" i would challenge: i see already LH taking away many of the perks you had as frequent traveller, as they did also in recent years.
