One thing I noticed recently is how terrible these seats are for the more frail elderly or wheelchair bound people.
Had seatmate calling out in the middle of the night because he couldn’t get himself up. Would have been way easier with a recline button rather than flip seat. Cabin crew button on screen also isn’t in the most obvious or user friendly place for these people.
Also a lady was sleeping hunched over in the sitting position. Went to the loo and told the FA. They said she was a wheelchair user and declined the bed. I figured she might be embarrassed if she needed to be lifted up while they made the bed. No seats free in the cabin. I should have offered to swap as mine made up, or her sit on mine. The seat isn’t friendly for these flyers yet they’re also paying a premium. Probably don’t have these issues with other styled beds.
As a bed itself I think NZ J is very good for sleep quality. Seat mode is where my dislikes lie.
