Indeed. 2 hrs connection time is a bit risky - if the US-AMS flight is late, you are one your own. Often US-EUR trips are the same miles as US-AMS trips...dit you look carefully? Cn't you take a flight in Europen which is way more away as 2 hours (say next day...enjoy AMS for a day fi)...
