Currently greatly enjoying our time at the MO Beijing. Hard product of the room is absolutely phenomenal, if not perfect. Common areas are stunning, though rather unique in the sense of no true lobby area. It reminds me a bit of MO HKG Landmark, which is fitting given it is also in a luxury mall and a boutique property (less than 100 rooms). Breakfast this morning was a semi-buffet + a la carte, but both were a bit limited in selection. Buffet quality was good, but menu avocado toast was less than subpar. Eggs were poached perfectly, though. Some confusion around my dairy allergy but it was sorted out. Given how poor service can be in China, even at luxury hotels, I am very pleasantly surprised overall after 24 hours.

The highlight of the stay so far was a private cocktail class at MOBar which, as I understand, is at the cutting-edge of mixology in Beijing. We had an absolute blast getting behind the bar before it opened to the public and learning how to make a few drinks with the bartenders. It was one of those activities that we’ll remember for many years to come and was such a good way to start the stay.

A few more days here, hopefully including both the spa and dinner at Mandarin Grill. More to come!
