I would rate NZ BP seat would be close to the bottom of the pile of business class seats out there.
I agree, mattress topper is great, but I sleep fine on other lie-flats and a good proportion of my time is spent not sleeping. Imagine how good the NZ BP seat would be if say they have the same comfort mattress on the Thompson Vantage XL seat.
A good amount of time is spent using the IFE and I find NZ BP screen among the smallest out there, smaller than some Economy screens on other airlines.
May not seem consequential to some, but I re-watched a movie on a much larger screen on another airline and enjoyed it more.

The forward aisle facing configuration gives me the feeling of a dorm at a backpackers but with pricing matching First Class on other airlines at times.
However, instead of lobster we are likely to get budgie meals.

LED light from across annoys the hell out of me too. A disadvantage of the forward facing herringbone configuration.

Like some here, I too find the seats are on the narrow side.

I am not fond of the white sterile tone.

The BP seats are not suitable for 789. One aisle just for left A seats is poor use of valuable space.
