By most valuations this would not pencil as a particularly good redemption. But for someone who's conserving cash, or needs to burn a large stash of Avios with no alternative use, it could still make sense.

Just want to address this. I looked more into it and I'm looking at 1.4cpp. You're right, it's not a good redemption. I would just pay cash for the fare.
