Who cares? Should I have a fit everytime I pay a premium of $4,500.00 for a J seat and someone else gets upgraded because of a SWU or an Op Up? They are getting for free what I had to pay for. Granted I was guaranteed a seat they were not...
But op-ups or elite instruments are not the same as self-upgrading. I'd be pissed if I watched someone from Y saunter up and self-upgrade to J.
Heck, the 18mo I was Plat, before BE, I found the middle between my wife and I in MCE empty 50% of our flights. I'd have been annoyed if after door closed someone from a regular seat moved themselves between us.
