Stayed at the end of October. All enjoyable, well appointed rooms and facilities.

At check-in [after the discussion in this forum on the credit amounts], I clarified with the receptionist that the $50 credit [2 guests] was per stay/day - that is, in effect, from noon to noon, so I could have three breakfasts and it would be no difficulty. Yes, that is correct; So once again, it is not by calendar day; that is, the booking is dated x,y,z and check out is the day after..No, sir, it does not work that way.

So we had two breakfasts and then on the third day decided to have drinks in the bar on the reception level [and try elsewhere for the following breakfast on the final morning], as this was past noon, and into the third 24 hour period. All good. Spoke with the cocktail waitress who advised that renovations would start next year, with the rooms being first; and that there had been designers throughout all venues, determining the changes [so that was 2 weeks ago!!].

Arrive at check out, check bill, and a charge of $50 - for the lobby bar drinks....strong discussion followed, with the name of the check-in agent used. I rationalised, that if we stayed one night, it could cover a drink at the bar and a breakfast - oh yes sir.....BUT if I stayed 2 or more nights, it must be used in the calendar day of the check-in date and each subsequent day !!!! With good fortune, the supervisor saw the logic and credited the $50. So, I did achieve the $150 discount, but at an effort.

The Welcome letter states, "dot point 2":
Daily $25.00 credit per person (up to two guests) towards Food & Beverage or Spa charges, excluding Retail and Private Bar.

The checkout agent referred me to this letter, and claimed that because the breakfast and the drinks were on the same calendar date in the charge folio, that negated the credit.

So it seems that the computer folio charge system will give a credit of $25 per guest per calendar day, irrespective of the concept of a 24 hour stay being noon-noon [or close enough]. The welcome letter would do well to clarify the definition of daily !!

The moral of the story ...Don't have breakfast and drinks on the same calendar day and forgo breakfast the next day...as the computer does not see it that way.
