I am about 1000$ away from reaching LT status. Have an upcoming stay and during that will reach LT. The hotel reached out to me and already welcomed me as LT Glob.

nice gesture! Which also means that either WOH informed the hotel about my soon-to-have status or the hotel has direct access to my points balance.
