I had a two-week work trip scheduled to Ireland and France 13 years ago that just happened to be the same week as my 20th wedding anniversary. I booked flights for me and my wife and we were going to spend our anniversary in Paris. Then my work trip was cancelled. I've still never made it to France.

Just do it......although Paris in the spring can be overrated with sometimes cold rain rather than warmth and flowers.
I think we're probably only spending a day or two in Paris and then will do WWII stuff the rest of the time.
