Am looking for some advice/thoughts on some redemption options for February 2020. Mrs ST is a part time teacher and so is quite tied to school holidays (though has a little more flex than regular teachers) hence the date choice is limited.
Our thinking is
- ex LON (ideally LHR)
- long haul to maximise Avios value ... and the longer the flight the better
- go to an interesting place but probably a single destination good for three/four days mooching (long list already ticked off!)
- probably one day and one night flight
- possibly F out J back
- 4-7 days trip
- not too worried about weather or jet lag!
- no China visa, time get one of course but been to PVG
- Flight dates would be 13/14 to 18-20 Feb or near.
Shortlist so far (having had a reasonable but non-exhaustive plough through rewardflightfinder.com) is
OSA (tho been to TYO)
HKG
any Texas airport (but we've been to the US/Canada a fair bit)
MSY
We might end up pushing the trip to the May bank holiday time as we have already got two short breaks in January (lucky us).
Would appreciate the normal variation of opinions and thoughts - especially places we've not though of
