back when I was a paramedic, every man and his dog would suddenly and mysteriously be available for any kind of aviation incident. I have fond memories of a bunch of management types, who were ordinarily “too senior” to attend any kind of emergency, rocking up to SOU for a dash with no flaps. Not requested and no reports of injuries but it made them happy 🤷🏻.♀️
that’s not restricted to paramedics: when I was a police officer many moons ago I arrested a drink driver and as was the policy at that time (mid 1980’s) requested the attendance of a traffic patrol officer to recover the suspects car to the police station. There were no takers until I broadcast the request a second time mentioning that the car in question was a Bentley!
