AC Status Miles on codeshare
I am looking to do an end of year mileage run YVR-Somewhere Far in J or equiv.

One of the routings I am looking at is YVR-ICN-BKK (on AC then OZ, in P or Z) returning BKK-HKG-YVR in Z.

On the return leg, I see that the flights all have AC flight numbers(AC9764-AC008), but it looks like BKK-HKG is on Cathay metal. I understand Cathay is not *A.

If I take the routing that includes the Cathay metal, will I get the qualifying miles for that segment? If I don't get all the miles, it's not worth it for me.
