Even if you're flying in economy, you're not missing out on much anyway. Last time I flew the route, NRT-BKK is using JAL's angled flat seats (shell flat neo) which are quite uncomfortable.
JAL tends to open up J availability on NRT-BKK much closer to departure anyway, so there's a good chance you won't have to settle for economy.
