If any city is worth a splurge, it's Lyon. So many great restaurants! As the previous post mentioned, I'd encourage you to check out bouchons. La Meuniere was a favorite when I visited. I think the lunch menu was around 20 Euro and mid 20s for dinner. The pots of wine were reasonably priced, too.
