I have done this on an earlier trip this year, where I have sent my luggage to a somewhere two days prior to checking in. We were doing going from Tokyo to Kyoto, with 2 nights at Hakone in between, where it did not make sense for some of our bigger luggage to be with us. We had our Tokyo hotel send it to our Kyoto hotel via takkyubin for us. I will note that this is between Hyatt properties, so it is easy for front desk to pull up an upcoming reservation to verify. I also cleared it with concierge via email ahead of time.
