I'll give you partial credit for some good guesses here: there was in fact a different airline that operated a different aircraft BHX-LGW, and BCal indeed ran a DC-10 on LGW-ATL; their Monday flight would have easily connected to an EA 727 to BHM, although with luck the 1+50 connection to the earlier jet was probably makeable

3A: LGW viable, but incorrect, BD incorrect, F28 incorrect (bonus points for these answers)
3B: BR viable, but incorrect, D10 viable, but incorrect
3C: 727 viable, but incorrect
