Looks like both alipay and WeChat pay will allow tourist access (central bank changed policy to allow this)



For Alipay tourist
No transaction fee to December 31, 2019, BUT the terms say the fee going forward will be a steep 5%

But looks like unused balance gets refunded after strict 90day period, so you have to redo the process if doing multiple trips throughout the year



WeChat pay says they'll directly allow users to connect foreign cards to app (versus alipay giving you a temporary card via bank of Shanghai). Anyone able to test this out? Not much info about this
