This happened to me, too. Fortunately the person whose seat I had accidentally poached was more than happy to take mine since it was closer to her travelling companions. If she had wanted her original seat, though, I would have readily moved. Accidents happen, and sometimes we just need a little polite nudging.
Pretty much this. I've yet to have an issue with someone who has taken my seat, or if I've accidentally taken theirs, so long as someone brings it up. Usually it's an accident, or a case of "it is so empty I doubt it matters".
