Thanks. And it just so happens that the “better conditions” capsule hotels are self-selecting in this instance as those that have the incredibly limited facilities don’t allow females nor children (11yo in this case) as guests.

Was wondering about people’s experiences of sending luggage on ahead via takkyubin or straight up asking a hotel to accept a case or two before the expected check in date, or any other techniques used or tips they might have. Our friends are likely to be “mixing it up” when it comes to hotels, so choosing a short “capsule” stay between dates at more conventional hotels or hostels may be a strategy.
