There was also debate in a thread here on the subject of BPs with status and *G and some not being allowed entry into lounges. Either the BP doesn't scan or the lounge agents aren't sure what to do, whatever. And sometimes challenges with the mobile Altitude cards. Some of us prefer to carry the plastic and avoid potential hassles. Sorry you are dealing with this now before your flight. BTW, did you not have the mobile version of your card saved somewhere?
