FYI re using flight connections at LHR.

The last time I had a tight connection (albeit AA to BA on one ticket) my inbound was slightly delayed and they wouldn’t let me through flight connections in T3 at all until I visited the BA desk and got rebooked on a later connecting flight.

Not sure if this is still the case, but if it is, then the bus transfer might not be an option.
