I have a couple of questions if anyone could help that would be great.

I have selected a couple of seats for a flight from Dublin to SFO on 20th Nov, I would like to change these for seats further up the plane however the option to select seats is no longer available after I selected the first seats, Anyone know how I can changes these seats

Also there are seat further forward that you can pay priority for, I checked a new booking and the plane seems like its mostly empty, lots of the seats at the back are grey but most in the middle are available, does this mean the flight will be near empty or do many people still need to select there seats.

I am mulling over paying to move foward or wait and just move on the day when the seats are empty, anyone any experience here?
