How recently did you stay?
It should be noted that the MO is nearly 2x the price of the next-most-expensive property. Right now the generous promotion with ~$125 daily hotel credit closes the gap, but still, it is clearly priced as the most premium in town (excl Aman).
Curious on your thoughts on the Opposite House and the Peninsula, as they were noticeably missing from your list.
Thanks, in your case I think I will go for WA instead, I stayed in MO in late Aug, there was some new furnishing smell in the room, I guess they probably still have some now, but I am just guessing. I received the credit as well as that is the benefits of the opening offer, but the food is upper-average, not fantastic. If the price for WA is over 4500 CNY, I will absolutely stay in WA, WA is not a old, ordinary hotel in Beijing for sure.
The Opposite House has great location in Sanlitun, but as a tourist, I imagine Sanlitun would be bit boring for you know 3 days trip, the traffic is horrible especially in weekend. If you don't have Chinese friend in Beijing, Sanlitun is just a trendy sight for foreign tourist, if you have friends in Beijing then Sanlitun may be a good option. However, in terms of the hotel itself, I personally think the room design is just too simple, even I am a fan of Park Hyatt, but the Opposite House is just bit dated and simple if you really stayed into the hotel, I stayed there in 2017 and the room is already bit dated. Therefore I reckon there are better option than that.
Pen is like the Opposite House, actually those two hotels are not that popular in Chinese FFP forum, I don't know why, it doesn't mean they are not good though. I haven't stayed in Pen yet, and I am not planning to try it, I just personally don't like Pen's design concept, I have stayed in Pen Paris and Hong Kong, the hotel is great, and Hong Kong was with wonderful view, the Pen in Beijing I would say is't not an amazing hotel, that's it, no surprise.
Hope it helps.
