I haven't yet seen this posted on the forum, so here it goes: the media in Portugal report that easyJet has been fined (125 thousand euros) for violation of EC261 (the specific article referred in the announcement regards assistance to passengers following flight cancellation). The airline appealed but the Court of Appeals upheld the decision and apparently it is now final.

I suppose this had to happen sooner or later given how some (most?) airlines try to dodge the obligations imposed by EC261...
