They freely accept one pair of ski as an exception.

I used to often go with wifey to GVA combining skiing and business..
We never had problems with two pairs of skis in a bag and another bag.
She got some trouble when she was travelling alone with two pairs of skis in a bag. But she charmed the agent and we had top elite cards at the time.
That was a long time ago, so may not be relevant.
Wifey sometimes flew alone with the two pairs of skis in a bag.
