I wouldn't count on Delta's acquisition of 20% of LATAM as meaning that they will join Skyteam (though it is established that they will leave oneworld). Delta has had 49% of Virgin Atlantic for several years now and have made no moves to get VS to join Skyteam. There will be no reason to prevent AFKL (or whoever else wants to) from partnering bilaterally with LATAM and offering FFP benefits if they think it's of advantage to their customers - it's just wrong to say that you can only "partner" with an airline if you are in the same alliance.
However, if LATAM did join Skyteam, then it would be the first airline in history to have, at least partly, been a member of all 3 main alliances in some form at some time
Note that China Southern left Skyteam and have, so far, shown no moves in joining any other alliance. Alliance membership isn't all it's cracked up to be anymore; it can be a cost with no extra benefits. Far better to partner with just those airlines that makes sense for you and your customers, rather than being forced to pay for the continued privilege of "partnering" with a motley crew of airlines, some of whom are meaningless for your customers.
Indeed, signs post that way. Which is not exactly great news for passengers in long-ish term, but well, what can you do.

As an UX member Flying a lot with AF, I am wondering which approach to follow now:
- continue accruing on UX and waiting for status match possibility coming from who in ST (?) or
- already switch from Scratch to FB / any other ST FFP -> No more ST perks then for a while as showing the card only works for few ST services... ( like Fast track in CDG lol)
- Contact FB for status match request.
Any FTer who experience such case. Maybe after CZ freeze out of ST?
You can probably expect some status match deal if UX falls out, but not guaranteed to be by FB. And if it is by AZ, then you can end up soon in a similarly bad position again.
I would probably start trying to get as much as you can on FB and using the physical card for perks as much as you can (which is probably most of your airport perks)
