This is so lame. The EU airlines (LH/SAS/BA) all have snacks available even on 1 hr flights. It's not impossible. UA is just not willing to go the extra mile at all. They've turned me from an enthusiastic customer to an enthusiastic detractor. For modern marketeers, this couldn't be any worse.
It is the lack of consistency. If I think I can get a snack (and I do not mean the biscoff/stroopwaffle/pretzels) then I do not need to leave earlier from where I am to get to a lounge to grab a bite to eat. I am fine to do that - it would just be nice to certainty. I am not even sure now when they have snacks and when they do not. I am going to go with the commuter jets have the snacks and the larger planes do not - which seems inverse to me.
