Improve chances?

I’m on UA48 ORD-BOM Nov 8. I’m in Y with GPU applied on an H fare. No PP available and 7 C still showing open in the seat map. Should I fare up before check in if there’s something higher than H? Right now H is the fare they’re booking for folks buying right now.
