We are using the free night so we can check in very early, 7am or so, after we arrive - 12pm check-in doesn't matter but I'm curious about upgrades.
Upgrade - upgraded to Hibiscus Beach Access Jr Suite from booked Coral Beach Access "deluxe" regular room Upgrade not mentioned but noticed and very appreciated.
Early check in - N/A, technically, since we had booked for free for the night prior - but detailed on the FHR sheet at check-in
Late check out - left at about 1 PM but they had called earlier to remind me that we had until 4 PM the day prior
Breakfast - included at either the buffet in Le Bazar or a la carte at Republik Beach restaurant. The a la carte seemed to be the better option since it didn't afford ridiculous buffet portions but did include a pour your own sparkling wine station, and a seemingly bread basket - and much more chill with only a handful of people there each morning. They advertise the Republik breakfast as exclusive for higher room categories but that wasn't the case on property.
Wifi - same wifi as the rest of the resort
Amenity - listed as 50-minute massages at their spa, one per person per room per stay. This was odd, as we signed a folio for our very nice couples massages at the spa for about $200 USD, but that charge didn't appear on our final folio, and there was a credit on that final folio specifically listed as $100 USD (3,300 Mauritian rupees). So we made out ahead?
They asked for and charged an Amex at check-in for the full amount then we settled for all charges billed to the room at check-out, and I think I could’ve used any card but didn’t bother as I’m completing an Amex minimum spend.
This was a great, true five star property. Overpriced of course, but worth it. The Indian restaurant, Safran, was a particular standout. Making advanced restaurant reservations was bizarrely impossible, they didn't answer my emails and the Amex concierge took 4 attempts to get in touch, then they didn't confirm and told us when we inquired on our first day that we had the times we wanted.
