No one can answer this for you. What's the value of the Avios to you? A common valuation would be from 1.3 to 1.5 cpp (US). What else might you use them for? You also need to consider the earnings you will be foregoing by not purchasing the paid ticket.

By most valuations this would not pencil as a particularly good redemption. But for someone who's conserving cash, or needs to burn a large stash of Avios with no alternative use, it could still make sense.
