Personally, I don't believe in big government. I don't like the idea of government telling me how much of my income I have to give in taxes to support research of a particular disease, be it AIDS, cancer, or any other affliction.
With that political philosophy comes a moral obligation: For me to decide for myself what causes I will support and then to put my money where my mouth is.
