I booked LAX-FRA, FRA-BRU, arriving at 14:35 and departing at 16:25 (weekday in July). I will be flying J on both segment and have *G. In any other airport, a 1:50 connection in the same terminal (1) would be more than enough, but all of the horror stories here have me thinking otherwise. Would I be better off with a 70 minute connection in MUC (I did this same connection at the same time last July and had plenty of time)? Otherwise, I could forego DE and LH altogether and fly Austrian for a few hundred more, but then I would have 5 hours in VIE.

I was looking forward to checking out the upper deck on the 748, as I have never been in any 747 upper deck and the 748 is one of the few active commercial planes I have yet to fly in. I almost never fly in J, so this may well be my only chance (the airlines I fly the most do not even have 747s any more). I don't anticipate $2k TATL flights in J to be the new normal. If I misconnect, it will cause a major headache for my travel plans.
