If you can use the Equinox benefit this is a good deal. Just confirmed with my club manager that it’s the $300/mo membership that affords use of all clubs - and that they are just going to charge me the $10/mo difference between rack rates on that membership and my Boston-executive membership. While I was on a deeply discounted/grandfathered rate I will still realize over $3k of annual benefit from this. If you live in California or the Northeast and can use the membership it’s a $3,600 annual benefit and no initiation fee.
However as an original Centurion member I agree with the comments above. They have swayed so far from the original travel perks and it seems like they should be able to do better with elite travel perks and enhanced MR earnings.
While the annual fee - even with the increase - is now easier for me to justify given my use of Equinox, I am still disappointed with the changes and continued failure to restore the card to its original place as the best card by far in my wallet. It’s been a long time since I could say that, and all of my travel and dining charges go on my Chase Sapphire card now.
