Went ahead with that plan yesterday, getting on the upgrade list for IN.
We actually previously found IN space outbound but with our schedules had to choose to stick with that or take return flights in J. (Longest our trip could be is 10 days.) Figured we’d rather have lie-flat for the redeye return and take our chances outbound, so we ultimately canceled the previous IN outbound and changed to a workable departure date. It’s not
that long of a flight SFO-PPT so if we don’t get the upgrade it won’t be the end of the world. To us, it’s not worth paying for a revenue ticket or spending 175k miles each (in part because our miles are limited as I was forced to switch to Delta after moving to MN this summer).
