Just to give you an update on what I chose now that the flight is booked: OSL-LHR-SYD-LHR-OSL in Club for £2320

I priced it up on AMEX UK Travel, and it was £20 higher than BA.COM (excl the Forex fee of £70) because I found out my Gold Amex earns me 3 points per £ plus they quote in GBP....which was a win win. However, after leaving the office thinking I can book this at home, - you've guessed it, the had increased by £680, which limited first sector options.

Skyscanner wasn't showing the fare anymore and I kept getting an error message when attempting to book through Expedia (after the 'No Thanks' hotel add-on option).

I considered paying the 2.99% Forex fee on BA.COM in NOK as the fare was still available there, but BA.COM went down around midnight. I tried on my BA app... but the BA PP AMEX I planned to use (family member's to hit £10k spend) had a low credit allowance which wasn't high enough for me to make the purchase.

After 1 hour, searching Opodo and other flight search sites, (it was 1am by this point and the price for this specific flight was slowly increasing on these sites), I went for Opodo, using my Gold Amex and accepting only double points.

On my return to the office this morning, I checked AMEX UK Travel again and the price was back to it's original rate (cookies? tracking?). I purchased it with my Gold Amex and cancelled the Opodo booking.

Man.... we do earn this cheaper business fares. I still have to make my way to Oslo too
