Our outbound was also booked in July for 35k miles each in saver. I'm 1K until the end of the year, so we've got E+ seats on the long-haul leg at a bare minimum. Not really in a spot where we can pay for a business class revenue fare (wife is in PhD program, so we're on one salary for a few years).
I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best, but once I drop to Silver in February, I assume the upgrade won't happen. There has been decent availability in IN class when looking 315-330 days out and then sporadic until closer to departure. But by spring my status won't make me privy to IN class.
One thing I should make clear so that I don't confuse you is that IN and PZ don't necessarily equal each other. So, there may be PZ>0 and no IN and vice versa. For instance, right now, 3/28/20, SFO-PPT, is showing:
J9 JN9 C9 D9 Z9 ZN9 P9 PN9 PZ9 IN0 I0 Y9 YN9 B9 M9 E9 U9 H9 HN9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 T9 L9 K9 G9 N9 XN9 X0
However, in general, the more P space there is, the more likely it is you'll get your UG.
