I am hoping to get some feedback from people who have checked skis and boots on Air France recently. Their written policy (which they do not veer from on the phone or on Facebook Messaging) is that I can check one pair of skis and poles in a bag and one pair of boots in another bag. My husband and I are only allowed one checked bag so that would be our baggage allowance. That would be OK because our carry on bags would be enough for other things.

However our carry on bags are not wheeled. I would like to pack two sets of skis in one bag (within size and weight limit) and another bag (rolling duffle wit wheels) for our boots, ski pants, etc.

Has anyone done anything similar?
