If the person is mobile with minimal luggage, you can drop off at Century and Sepulveda. It's up to a 15 minute walk to the International Terminal, but that's faster than a traffic jam. Terminal 1 is less than a 5 minute walk. Or walk 2 minutes to the LAX-it lot and take the bus.
Yeah... that person was my mom. She hates walking..so she was being dropped off right in front of the terminal LOL.
