Your hotel points won't get you far. I'd probably just plan on paying cash for the hotel.
Yes, it's Amex gold. I won't get a signup bonus for the BA Amex now, I presume.

I could switch to the BA Premium, I suppose The reason I opted for Gold originally was because I can't channel all my airline spend through BA as most of my flight are either LCC or KLM.

I'm not 100% certain I could spend enough for the 241, to be honest, without manufacturing spend.
