Sepulveda Blvd is only a 2 minute walk, 150 yards east of LAX-it. Hail a ride from there and it will be faster for you AND for the driver. You will also save the $4 airport surcharge. Or catch the LA 232 bus or the Torrance 8 bus south for $1.75 or $1, respectively.
LAX screwed up big time by locating the only pickup zone so close to this faster, cheaper alternative.
I think I'd just walk to the In and Out burger which is less than a mile from T1. Get a nice burger and request Uber from there.
