I doubt it is combinable on a single ticket. You'd have to book a separate positioning ticket. DL will protect across separate tickets though, so this is probably ok if you decide this is worth it.
Interesting. This might get expensive if I were to do this. What do you mean by DL will protect across separate tickets? How would you do this if you depart from YYZ and want to fly to LAX/SFO?
