I don't know how United can charge $2,100 for the same flight but American charges only $525. American has crappy 1st class seats but UA is not worth the extra $1,600.
I also noticed that going into early January, United always has at least several ORD>SFO flights priced at $2,100.
My guess is that they "hold" some inventory for int'l connections through SFO, which will be available in lower business fares (e.g., Z and P). If F is full from ORD-SFO, people will be less inclined to buy a TPAC business class ticket.
For a few of the flights on Nov 7, only one F seat is available for sale and so they charge quite a premium for that last seat.
