Hi everyone,

I plan on travelling in October to SFO to NRT to PUS (Pusan, South Korea) and back to SFO via NRT. I plan on purchasing the SFO - NRT roundtrip because there seem to be some good fares available right now, and then using a One World reward on JAL for the NRT - PUS leg.

My concern is connecting on the return, I'm looking at:

JL958 which arrives at NRT at 3:40pm and UA 838 which departs NRT for SFO at 5:55 pm.

If I don't have checked luggage, I'm guessing I won't need special arrangement to use the transfer counters and make the connection without clearing immigration?

BUT, if I have checked bags, can they be checked from Pusan all the way through to SFO on the two carriers? How would I request this? (I've never done this before! )
